Low voltage lighting has become a comprehensive, groundbreaking lighting solution that offers an intrinsic human centric lighting experience, flexible tuning, advanced controllability, simple dim ability, and installation ease while reducing a homes carbon footprint which saves the planet and your pocket book. Our customized low voltage lighting solutions are offered in four low voltage lighting types – Static White Light; Dim to Warm Lighting; Natural Tunable White; and Full Visible Spectrum Light.

LED Lighting Types

  • Static White

Our Static White Light low voltage light fixtures offer 2700 Kelvin warm white or 3000 Kelvin crisp white (halogen light) with each fixture producing near identical light consistently to within 2 MacAdams ellipse differential which is imperceptible to the human eye and dim ability that reduces brightness while maintaining the exact same color temperature across the complete lighted space.

  • Dim-To-Warm

Our Dim-To-Warm Light low voltage light fixtures are unlike standard LED light products. We offer an LED low voltage lighting solution that will dim from crisp white to a candlelight glow while decreasing light output simultaneously. Perfect of that relaxing bath or reading in bed light. These low voltage lights mimic an incandescent luminaire at a fraction of the energy requirements.

  • Natural Tunable White

Our Natural Tunable White Light low voltage light fixtures are the closest light source to true sunlight on the market. We offer an LED low voltage lighting solution that produces a wide tunable range of warm white to mid-daylight and back again mimicking the evolutionary human light experience of sunlight and firelight supporting natural circadian rhythms developed over thousands of years.

  • Full Visible Spectrum

Our Full Visible Spectrum Light low voltage light fixtures recreate and control light that emulates the spectral quality of daylight while accessing a rich gamut of pastels and saturated colors to unveil new design frontiers. Our full spectrum low voltage light solution enables the exploration of any and every color therapy with the ultimate selection of millions of colors, saturations, hues and Intensities to be controlled.

Benefits of Low Voltage Lighting

Low voltage lighting has many benefits over traditional high voltage lighting. Some of these benefits include:

  • Efficiency: Low voltage lighting is more power efficient than high voltage lighting because it uses less energy to produce the same amount of light. This can save you money on your energy bills. By one estimate a single 100 Watt light bulb, left on for 4 days a week, can generate ~125 kg of CO2 per year. But if you replace that light bulb with a 17 Watt LED light, you could offset CO2 emissions by 83%. LED lights can also last up to 20 times longer than conventional light bulbs, reducing the need to manufacture new ones.

  • Durability: Low voltage lighting is more durable than high voltage lighting because it is made with high-quality materials. This means that it will last longer and require less maintenance.

  • Flexibility: Low voltage lighting is more flexible than high voltage lighting because it can be installed in a variety of ways and locations including wet and water locations. This makes it a good choice for a variety of applications from conventional room lighting to under water features and everything in between.

  • Aesthetics: Low voltage lighting produces more aesthetically pleasing types of light than high voltage lighting because it produces a softer, more diffuse light with the ability to be tuned to specific colors in a range of millions of colors. This can create a more inviting, creative and relaxing atmosphere.

  • Safety: Low voltage lighting is safer than high voltage lighting because it uses a lower voltage of electricity. This makes it less likely to cause electrical shocks or fires.

How to Choose the Right LED Lighting

When choosing low voltage lighting, there are a few factors you need to consider, such as:

  • It all starts with the desired lighting effect:

Whether its accent, ambient, or task lighting we have you covered and can design lighting systems that work with all three in concert with the finest detail to support an anticipated look and lighting effect.

    • Accent Lighting includes:

      • Wall Grazing

      • Wood Beams

      • Artwork

      • Coves

    • Ambient Lighting includes:

      • Performance Coves

      • Tray Ceilings

      • Embedded Extrusions

      • High Lumen Fixtures

    • Task Lighting includes:

      • Workstations

      • Closets

      • Under Cabinet

      • Floating Shelves

  • Who should design and install your low voltage lighting:

Ironically the contractor who installs high voltage lighting may not be qualified to design and install your low voltage lighting. In many cases these low voltage lighting systems require a better understanding of LED lighting fixtures and the design advancements made possible by LED lighting. This includes an understanding of low voltage wiring and the control systems used to manage and adjust the color and temperature capabilities only available with LED low voltage lighting. In general a low voltage contractor is more suited to designing and installing LED lighting because they often have a better understanding of the technology behind lighting control and have better access to more advanced LED lighting design resources. Overall low voltage lighting contractors have a greater ability to truly take full advantage of the advanced capabilities of LED light fixtures and low voltage lighting systems.

  • The type of light you need:

A comprehensive low voltage lighting design is essential for any LED low voltage lighting project and is an integral part of our low voltage lighting design and installation services. Since today’s LED lighting offers so many “light” options including “Static White”, “Dim-To-Warm”, “Natural Tunable White” as well as “Full Spectrum” it is essential to explore all the options available with LED lighting before embarking on a lighting upgrade to your residence. Each LED fixture is designed for specific purposes and are used throughout the home for all kinds of purposes both on the inside and the outside of the house. The realm of low voltage lighting offers a comprehensive catalog of fixtures designed with capabilities not found in conventional high voltage lighting, each with its own unique purpose to create new environments in lighting. For example on the outside of your home, path lights are ideal for illuminating walkways, while up lights can be used to highlight trees or shrubs and with low voltage LED lighting your walkway and yard lighting can be any color you choose and change with the touch of a single button or adjusted in an app on your phone as well as be set to come on at dusk. On the inside of your home, low voltage LED lighting can be programmed to mimic dawn, noon and dusk by following color and intensity of the normal daily daylight changes to support a natural circadian rhythm.

  • The desired mood:

Low voltage lighting can be used to create a variety of moods, from a romantic dinner to a lively party and change between these types of scenes with the touch of a button or turn of a color wheel. Consider the desired mood when choosing the type of light fixtures and colors you need for each lighting area. Some rooms need color others may need natural tunable white. Creating your own lighting scenes is simple and allows you and others instant access the mood lighting for any room. LED lighting is all about environment, choice and mood.

  • The budget:

Low voltage lighting is affordable and creates saving over time making it an essential upgrade for the future, making a positive impact on power consumption and the environment.

How Much Does Low Voltage Lighting Installation Cost?

The cost of low voltage lighting installation will vary depending on the size and complexity of your project. However, in general, low voltage lighting installation is a cost-effective way to improve the lighting in your home with many long and short term cost benefits over your existing traditional lighting systems.

What to expect during a low voltage lighting project

The planning and installation of low voltage lighting installation is relatively straight forward and can be completed in a few hours to a couple of days depending on the amount and locations of the new LED lighting to be installed in your home. Here are the basic steps involved in a low voltage lighting project:

  • Referencing a low voltage lighting design:

Before a payment was made on your project a design was created to support the different LED lights for your specific project. Once the project is underway the design is used to ensure the project scope is understood and the outcome is a success.

  • Planning the layout:

Using the design documents, the layout is planned for all expected LED lighting locations based on the bill of materials created for your project. This will involve deciding where and how all light fixtures are to be installed based on the low voltage LED lighting design.

  • Install the wiring:

Depending on the types of LED lights to be used the required wiring will be run to support the specific lighting locations. These wire runs have usually already been discussed with the home owner ahead of time to define the expectations for wire run requirements based on the location of lighting fixtures.

  • Install the light fixtures:

Once the wiring is in place the light fixtures can be installed in their desired locations based on the design. The light fixtures are attached to wiring and in turn connected to power and communication hardware.

  • Light switches and control:

Once all the new lighting has been connected together per design the lighting is brought online through switch and control system configurations.

  • Testing the new lighting:

After a lighting walk-through with the project manager your lighting is ready for use and you can start testing out all the features of your new LED lighting systems making note of any changes you think are necessary.
