A long history of audio video success in Seattle, WA.
Long before Cutting Edge Design, Inc. the Seattle, WA. based low voltage contractor opened its doors to the public in 1995, owner and company president Roland Munroe was already deeply involved in the local A/V market and the growing audio video industry of Seattle, WA., including holding multiple successful sales management positions with reputable Pacific Northwest audio video retail institutions including Magnolia Hi-Fi, Northwest Auto Sound, Pacific Stereo, and Sound Advice.
Looking back Roland has always loved music, which ultimately lead him into the Audio Video industry after college. So as the AV industry slowly evolved during those years and new opportunities for licensed specialty trades including low voltage began to blossom, Roland realized that his calling was to start his own low voltage AV integration company.
So in 1995, with his love of music and audio systems, wood working and construction experience, and an extensive exposure to the AV industry over those years… he ultimately formulated a business plan to branch out on his own and start Cutting Edge Design, Inc. the Audio Video Integration Company.
Since the early days the company has grown steadily… helped in part by the introduction of new technologies like DVD players, Blu-ray Players, and flat panel TVs. To date the company has gone through several successful transitions including the addition of long time friend and college buddy Karl Anderson.
Today the A/V integration industry is a $178 billion dollar industry and Cutting Edge Design has kept pace with its evolution spurred on by a loyal referring customer base, constant A/V product and technology innovations, and the activities of industry trade groups including AVIXA - Infocomm and CEDIA.

Roland Munroe
Roland’s enthusiasm for this industry grew from his love of music as a youth. His extensive vinyl record and CD collection are testament to this love of all things music.
With this enthusiasm and exceptional work ethic he has built an elite audio video integration company surrounding himself with like minded individuals as partners and employees.
When you don’t find Roland working on business or family affairs you’ll find him coaching youth soccer and rooting for the local MLS Sounders soccer team.
Karl Anderson
With Karl’s love of music and interest in computers, he has spent over three decades working with computers, networks, home technology, digital audio, web development and business marketing.
Today... As CEDI’s administrator Karl has organized internal data management, business operations, residential and commercial networking, and online marketing for this growing A/V integration business.
When you don’t find Karl working on business or family affairs you’ll find him playing drums and recording music.
